
A large bushfire has been burning at Columboola since 10.40am, Friday 24 January.
Queensland Fire Department were called to a fire along Brownlies Road at Columboola at 10.40am.
Due to the nature of the fire, heavy plant equipment and firefighting aircrafts were called in to assist ground crews.
QFD spokesperson also said that a loader was on the scene creating a fire break.
As of 2.30pm, the aircrafts were no longer needed. Three rural fire department crews and one urban crew are still on the scene fighting to contain the blaze.
A smoke warning has been issued for Columboola and its surrounds.
The fire did not threaten structures at any point.
